Deepinder Goyal, Zomato CEO, recently shared his eye-opening experience of stepping into a distributor’s shoes one day. His experience highlighted the challenges distributors face on a daily basis, and inspired him to get out of the business and work quickly.
In a post in X , Goyal announced that Ambiance Mall responded swiftly by creating a dedicated online food delivery hub for food distributors. He thanked Arjun, the owner of the stall, for taking immediate action and improving the condition of the clients.

“We are thankful to Arjun for not only addressing the issue but also agreeing to deploy ‘walkers’ to the mall to expedite the delivery of food from restaurants to these pick-up points,” Goyal shared.
He urged other retail owners to follow suit or find new solutions to better serve distributors, customers and businesses alike.
This first-hand experience, which Goel shared with his wife, Gracia Munoz, gave him a deeper understanding of the obstacles faced by inherent entrepreneurs. Through a video, he emphasized the need for supermarkets and distribution centers to collaborate, to create a more respectful and efficient environment for these important workers.
